Updates

Well, it has been a surprisingly long time since I last blogged! I'm going to blame life, but everyone has that problem, so let's move on.

Things have been ticking away nicely in the Pillar household, we've been renovating again, and preparing books for launch! Bitten is due out on 8 January 2017, so I am super excited for that! It will be available on Netgalley soon, but if you'd like a copy to review, you can also get in contact with me directly :)

I haven't posted a pic of the kitties on the blog recently, which is a shame. So I will rectify that situation ASAP! Lily has been suffering anxiety issues (although it looks the other way around in the photos below), so we've now got her on medication after all other attempts have failed. Wish us (and her, poor little mite) luck!

And for good measure, and because I loved Jurassic Park, check out this amazing find of a dinosaur tail in amber!

Is the IBS a symptom? Our cat, Izzy, has the most fussy digestive tract of any cat I've ever had. She was horrifically ill about 10 years ago and lost about half her weight in only a month mostly due to constant vomiting. The vet tested her for *everything* and finally just threw up his hands in frustration.

We wound up having to put her on 3 different liquid medications to soothe her tragically inflamed esophagus and I found one, and only one, dry food that she could keep down. Not a yummy wet/canned food. Oh no. Just one off-the-shelf dry food. She's been eating that ever since. If I try anything else, she's back to throwing up. There is one exception. I give her a catnip-infused dental treat every day that's also hard and crunchy because something in her drool causes a lot of plaque build-up to form on her teeth. These treats really help with that, plus she gets buzzed every evening.

Even now, she drools watery blood-tinged mucus for no reason whatsoever. She's the ultimate Delicate Flower.

I hope you can figure out why Lily is having such a rough time of it. There must be something triggering her.
